Shoreline Amphitheatre opened on June 29, 1986, as a partnership between the City of Mountain View and concert promoter Bill Graham. The venue was constructed to hold 22,500 people—6,500 in reserved seating and 16,000 on a sloped lawn—and was designed to become a focal point for live music in the San Francisco Bay Area. The amphitheater's design and layout have made it one of the region's most-used outdoor performance spaces, hosting hundreds of concerts and events over its decades of operation.

The venue is located at 1 Amphitheatre Parkway, not far from the other major institutions and corporate campuses that line Mountain View's northern corridor. It is operated for the City of Mountain View by Live Nation, which handles booking, marketing, and day-to-day management. Over its history, Shoreline has hosted performances ranging from classic rock to contemporary music, and the lawn seating has become a tradition for Bay Area residents—families bringing blankets and picnics to events on summer evenings.

A working parent in Mountain View, juggling the demands of both a career and family time, often thinks of events like concerts as the moments that matter: the evening out with a spouse, the concert trip with teenagers, the traditions that hold a family together even when work is consuming. That same parent also knows that those traditions depend on stability—on knowing that if something happened to them, the family's finances would not force the people they love to make different choices. Term life insurance is meant to protect those choices, those traditions, and those people.
